Tennessee Stack Burger

Serves 2

400g Beef Mince 5% Fat

1 Small Onion finely diced

2 Wholemeal Bread Rolls

Shredded Lettuce

4 Smoked Bacon Medallions

2 Montgomery Jack Cheese Slices

For the Sauce:

4 Tablespoons Tomato Puree

4 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar

2 Tablespoons Granulated Sweetener

4 Tablespoons Water

1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika

Method:

Prepare the sauce first to allow it to cool, mix together the balsamic vinegar, tomato Purée, Sweetener , water and Paprika and heat gently in a pan for a couple of minutes. Leave to cool.

Make the burgers by dividing the Mince into 4 portions, squeeze the Mince together and make into burger rounds, grill or fry in a non stick pan until browned and cooked through. Fry the onions until browned and grill or fry the bacon.

Meanwhile heat the bread roll  in the oven for 2 minutes and slice into 2 halves.

To assemble spread the onions on the base half of the roll, top with a burger, 1/2 slice cheese, follow with another burger, remaining cheese, bacon slices, lettuce and finish with lashings of sauce, place on the lid of the roll and enjoy!
