You are going going to love this healthy take on one of the most famous big burger favourites.
It takes minutes to prepare, minutes to cook and tastes just like the real thing, with a fraction of the calories and fat! Great for a Saturday Night treat.
The Ultimate Healthy Burger
1 large Pack or 800g of Beef Mince
4 Hi Fibre/ Wholemeal Rolls (60g each)
Pickled Gherkins Thinly Sliced
4 Bacon Medallions
8 Light/Half Fat Cheese Slices
With Love Recipes Roasted Red Pepper Sauce or 4 Tablespoons Red Sauce
Divide the mince into 8 equal pieces. Using a burger press or your hands press the mince into 8 Burger Patties. Leave to one side.
Fry onions and gherkins for2-3 minutes in a non stick pan, once lightly browned remove from the pan and set to one side.
Next fry the burgers in a non stick pan until cooked through. Cook the bacon medallions.
Slice the roll into 3 across the centre and lightly toast.
Now layer up your burger.
Start by spreading a thin layer of roasted red pepper sauce or tomato sauce on the bread roll base, add some onion, add a burger and a cheese slice. Next add the middle layer of the bread roll and place a cheese slice on top, add another burger, bacon, gherkins and roasted red pepper or tomato sauce.
Top with the lid of the bread roll and enjoy.
